015. EVENT :: VELVET
It is very nearly that time of year again, easily my favourite holiday of all.
On Saturday 14th February Velvet will be holding a Valentine's Dance, just like last year this is an event you will not want to miss featuring burlesque performances from the Vee Girls, several live bands, as well as some stunning performances courtesy of some very special guests, not to mention open all area passes to the Obsidian bar and lounge.
In keeping with the theme of love for the evening a free drink of your choosing will be on offer for any women who attends in a red, pink or white dress. The same goes for men who arrive in formal attire; there will be the option to check your jackets, gentlemen, as the club is liable to get rather warm over the course of the evening. Corsages and boutonnières will be provided on the door by the welcoming party along with the card redeemable for your beverage at any of our bars.
Everything else is a surprise.
Do not forget to bring dates, of course. Naturally it is not mandatory, but I am an old romantic and I love nothing more than a bar full of couples.

Velour will be closed on Thursday 11th December for a private function, the Obsidian bars and lounges will be open as usual for members. Normal service will be resumed on Friday 12th December.

010. EVENT :: VELVET.
I told you to keep your eyes peeled, good people of Denver and here is why.
Starting tonight I will have five secure boxes located in Velour, each one numbered and labelled. The idea is that you, the patrons and even the staff if they so choose to take part, I know I will be, write your names on the sheets provided and slip them into the appropriate box. In one week I will draw the names out randomly in pairs and whoever you are paired with will be your blind date.
Of course you do not have to go on your blind date but you will be entitled to a free drink if you show your slip to any one of the Velvet staff. I will also be making a list of names that are pulled so you cannot trade! The excitement is in the mix, my friends.
The boxes will be numbered and labelled thus:
1. Male for Female.
2. Female for Male.
3. All Female.
4. All Male.
5. Mixed.
I know you wonderful people will make this event a success, you are too fabulous to let such an opportunity to fun pass you by.

Firstly, I would like to go on record as saying that Velvet is as safe now as it has ever been.
Understandably some of you are concerned about events that occurred on Halloween, but rest assured there is no reason to be. No human was injured or turned in the altercation that took place and both parties have indeed been banned for the time being in groups larger than two or three. The security staff at Velvet is constantly attentive and extremely capable of handling any trouble that may arise, though it is highly unlikely to do so again.
Velvet prides itself on being open to all races, and that is not going to change. There are rules to be obeyed and respect paid to one another whilst on the premises, by everyone, obviously some rules were broken and those that did so have been dealt with.
Now that is out of the way, onto the exciting part; keep an eye on this journal for news of an upcoming event to be held at the club.

Naturally it promises to be an evening you won’t want to miss. Live entertainment will include DJ Nines, The Vee Girls and Tryst and for one night only the Obsidian bars and lounges will be open to everyone regardless of membership.
There will be free admittance to those in costume and the three best costumes will receive a very exciting prize, so dress to impress.

Well now, I hope the population of Denver have gotten it out of their system now. Nothing like a good riot to work out the tension after all. I'm sure the investigation would have gotten a lot further if those poor officers had been left to their own devices.
